* Every minute more than 3,000 shortened Internet addresses are generated and exchanged across social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook. Software security firm McAfee Inc. says those abbreviated Internet addresses, which make it easy to direct people to malicious websites, will remain big targets for cybercriminal activity in 2011.
* More than three-quarters of all U.S. noncash payments were made electronically in 2009, according to a Federal Reserve study. Debit cards are now the most-used noncash payment instrument.
