MINE INSPECTOR (BEACONSFIELD)

DON SCHOFIELD says two senior officers are at the northern Tasmanian mine .. where
three men were trapped after a rockfall on Tuesday night.

He says Workplace Standard officers will prepare a full report for the coroner .. but
he says any investigation will take some time because of the complex geotechnical aspects
involved.

The mining company could face a 150-thousand dollar fine if any breach of the Workplace
Health and Safety Act is identified.





An unidentified body was discovered this morning .. but two other miners remain trapped.
